GCB: 2011-2012 Season Begins

I hope you have had a good summer. I have met with Richard and we are both looking forward to the first rehearsal of the new season next Monday. We will meet around 6:45 for a social gathering in the lobby of the gym to welcome back all GCB members and those who are coming to play with us for the first time. In addition to a few new people, I am expecting a few who were not able to play with us for some or all of last year. Please bring a little food to share if you are able. I will bring plates and cups and will ask some to bring drinks.

Below are some the new pieces I would like to get through Monday night.

  • Prospect
  • American Folk Rhapsody
  • Mr. Everest
  • I’m Feelin’ Fine
  • Just a Closer Walk
  • John Williams in Concert
  • Second Suite in F by Holst

I wanted to let everyone know that the wind ensemble that played at the Coca-Cola Collector’s Convention did a fantastic job. The convention organizer said it was just what she was hoping for and donated $325 to the band for our participation.

Again, I am looking forward to seeing you.

Jack Randall
