The Gwinnett Community Band (GCB) is a non-profit group of adult musicians from throughout the Atlanta area. Established in 1984, the band performs quality music for public enrichment and provides ongoing performance opportunities for enthusiastic adult amateur musicians.

Nationally, the GCB has given memorable performances at conferences in St. Louis, Missouri, and Gainesville, Florida. In the Atlanta area, the band has entertained thousands of people at:

  • The Gwinnett Civic Center
  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden
  • The Mall of Georgia
  • The World Congress Center
  • Thrasher Park, Norcross
  • Duluth Amphitheater
  • Georgia International Horse Park
  • Lake Lanier Islands
  • Annandale Village
  • Televised concerts from Stone Mountain Park
  • And many other venues throughout the Atlanta Metro area

The GCB is proud of its’ strong local involvement. The band performs regularly at senior centers and for civic events throughout the area, and gives occasional performances in the Meadowcreek Auditorium.

Our Music Director(s)

Our music director is Jack Randall.

Jack Randall is the Director of the Gwinnett Community Band.  He has a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Georgia and taught band for twelve years and special education for eighteen years.  In 1980 he started a church orchestra at Mount Carmel Christian Church in which he continues to participate.  He has also been a member of The Band of America and Night Train swing band.  Mr. Randall joined the Gwinnett Community Band in January of 2008 playing trombone and became the Director in August 2010.

Our assistant music director is Rich MacLagan.

Rich MacLagan has many years of experience as a director and a brass player in a variety of music settings.  He has a degree in conducting and currently works at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church where he oversees the worship and arts.  He has travelled with touring bands collegiately and has played with concert and swing bands in recent years.  He has enjoyed playing with the GCB since 2006 and being the assistant director since 2010.
